Robert Hull is an artist, specialising in bespoke watercolour pet portrait commissions. Robert needed a custom website allowing him to sell his pre-made products such as prints, cards and mugs, as well as allowing customers to request and pay for commissions.

Due to the custom requirements of each commission, as well as the unique pricing structure (based on the number of pets and canvas size), we decided to use a custom layer on top of Craft CMS with Stripe integration. This allowed us to build what we needed, without being restricted to any particular limitations of the ecommerce frameworks available at the time.

The commission configurator was built using Vue.js, allowing the customer to enter the names of all their pets, specifying what makes each pet special (this allows Robert to capture the personality of each pet in his art) and allow uploading of photos for each pet.
